so, i'll back track with a christmas post or two but to ring in 2011, i'm going to tell you about my nye. first we went to dinner at a local restaurant. it was delicious. i had the sea bass and a couple of glasses of wine with a small group of dear friends. i honestly thought our night would end there. let's face it, mr. h and i like to go to bed early (and i should know by now that if i have more than two glasses of vino in one night, i will pay for it the next day). but we didn't go home after dinner. we went to a random party. let me start off by saying that because of this, i didn't take a camera. i didn't think i would need one and i didn't really think about it. i told you i've been on a blog/picture vacation. such a bad time of year to go on strike!
this shindig was held at a random warehouse near downtown. i would have never known that events could be held there but it was actually pretty cool. minus the fact that there were only restrooms on every other floor. the party was one the top floor and had a great view of downtown, bartenders, champagne toast at midnight and a photo corner. now, you know me - the photo corner stole the show for my crew. it was a corner with white walls, a big camera flash and fun props.
these are the combination of iphone photos from mr. h and myself. we still documented the moment, the only way we could. i have used the word random a few times to describe this party. the following picture will help you to understand why.
yep, the fake grass and "trees" with faces were the other thing on the third floor. this covered the entire floor and you had to come to the "forest" to use the restroom. weird. right? mr. h said that another room was filled with those big bean bag chairs. i never saw them but i'm still wondering what this building's daily purpose is. if someone knows, please tell me.
meet the photo corner hogs: mrs. o'dell & baby autry, myself and mrs. farr:
my eyes and the iphone4 do not go well together. i'm just saying.
and we found some props...and cocktails...
liquid courage?
dancing? this does not look like the dance floor...
overall we all had a great evening. we stayed for the count down and left shortly after. james was sound asleep and perfect when we got home. he did not care that we stayed up late and was up bright and early on saturday at 6:10 am. thank you, james. you reminded me why we don't stay out late anymore. too bad i keep having to learn the hard way.
breakfast of champions.
to be honest, i loved 2010. i don't regret anything. i look forward to 2011. i expect 2011 to be filled with better things then twenty-ten so i am ready. as for now, i'm sure i'll still write 2010 and laugh about it for a couple of weeks.
happy new year!!!
thank you to my wonderful family and friends for making my twenty-ten so great. i hope to return the favor this year!
